We are programmed to eat sugary treats
Some people are going to be so pleased that scientists have discovered that our brains could be primed to jump when there are sugary foods on offer. This was found out when the researchers tested volunteers by showing them a picture of a screwdriver and a picture of a Krispy Kreme donut.
Surprisingly the volunteer’s brains preferred the donut and this reaction was shown through the use of a magnetic resonance imaging scanning machine. Yet after the test each volunteer was allowed to consume up to eight of the sugary delights, which would be enough to quench any hunger, sugary or otherwise.
In a follow up test shortly afterwards, the researchers of North-western University of Chicago put the volunteers through the same test and were surprised to find that neither of the images had any effect on the volunteers, probably because their blood sugar levels were at all time high.
