Dove soap destroying forests
The makers of Dove beauty products, Unilever are being accused of being responsible for the destruction of huge amounts of rain forest, species extinction and indeed as a result of the business practices, they are being held responsible for climate change.
It would seem that the production process requires a massive amount of palm oil and it is this product that is being grown in massive quantities. But in order for them to be able to produce this amount of palm oil there is a need for many acres of the rainforests of Indonesia’s rain forest to be destroyed in order for the palm oil to be grown.
The eco friendly group Green Peace have been protesting about these changes from forest to plantation, as it is believed that the rain forests are the main thing that keeping the whole planet together, without them we would all be lost.
