Safer online shopping

As more people begin to use the internet for many of their purchases, there is an opportunity for criminals to cash in on the mistakes that both consumers and businesses make, in order to make the whole online shopping experience so much easier and faster.

Helpful Hints when looking to buy something from an online store:

Always keep a copy of the order confirmation.

Always read the small print.

Contact the retailer if you have any questions or doubts.

Never shop with a retailer you don’t trust, no matter how good their prices.

Useful sites for consumers who have found that they have been misled or lost out to fraud:

Office of Fair Trading www.oft.gov.uk

Trust UK www.trustuk.org.uk
