Fuel thieves get smarter

In the states there is a growing crime wave. This involves the amount of fuel being stolen from cars parked in owners drive.

Yes this is not new totally new as this has been around fro decades, but now vehicles are fitted with sophisticated security features which have been responsible for a dropped in the theft of fuel. But that was before the fuel prices began to rocket.

Now stealing fuel is becoming a profitable business and the first thing a vehicle knows is when they are trying to start the engine and the fuel gauge is on empty.

What the thieves are doing now, they are looking for vehicles with the latest plastic fuel tanks, and the thieves are simply drilling a hole into the tank and draining all of the fuel away.
