Abbey announces cash back offer

Credit card holders with the Abbey will be getting a little bit of a bonus from now and until the end of January 2008. As all purchases at the major supermarkets will be eligible for 5% cash back. However this will only count for the first £1000 worth of purchases. Five per cent is not a huge amount, but any money that you get from a bank has to be a bonus.

Fortunately the offer is going to be open to both new and existing customers, this comes as the credit card business once again returns to being managed by an in house business, which is Santander Cards Ltd whereas it was previously managed by MBNA.

It is estimated that the average shopping bill for a family is around £190 per month, so by just doing the normal shop most customers will become eligible for the full £50!
