Shop owner finds Homer euro coin
The one-euro coin is a universal currency, which can be used throughout Europe, but each country makes their particular coins that have their own distinctive markings pressed into them.
In Spain’s case, they have like many countries, the image of their King, but in the northern city of Aviles, a coin with a different leader has appeared.
Confectionary store owner Jose Martinez was cashing up at the end of the day, when he noticed something slightly different about a one-euro coin, it was only upon closer inspection that he noticed Homer Simpson had replaced the image of the King!
The coin was identical in every other aspect, but the inclusion of the cartoons character shows that the counterfeiters are not only highly skilled, but have a sense of humour too.
