Eye scans to pay for shopping
It’s funny how technology from the small and big screen make it into the real world, all be it not in the way that they were first portrayed in the screenplay. Take the use of retina scans, this has been seen in Star Trek and other sci fi shows, now you would expect this to be used in some sort of high tech security entrance system, but you would be wrong.
In fact this type of technology is going to be used by customers of credit card companies who are trying to beef up their security levels at the checkout, yes this technology is going to be used to save the banks money and for people to pay for their shopping.
Barclaycard will be introducing a new style cash machine that will enable their customers to withdraw money from the machine by using their fingerprint. This technology will also be rolled throughout the UK if it seems to be viable.
