Japan gets white label McDonalds

These days we have almost got used to what labels for most products, but in Japan, one of the most famous trademarks and business names is going for a low profile.

McDonalds have spent the past few decades building up a brand, which is recognisable, virtually any around the world, but are they about try something new?

It would seem so, because for the fast food eaters in Tokyo a new store is setting up under the branding of Quarter Pounder. These stores will have no branding at all, minimal decor and just a two-item menu, the Quarter Pounder with Cheese and the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese.

The stores and packaging comes in red and black, yet it is understood that this could become an amazing piece of marketing, which could catch on in a big way. However, whether this is going to catch on or not is another matter.
