Italians finish a weeklong pasta strike

Nobody will be able to tell exactly how many Italians actually went ahead and took part in the great Italian pasta strike, but one thing is for sure, the makers and more importantly the shops that sell the number one foodstuff in Italy would defiantly be taking notes.

The whole thing started when it was announced that because of the increases in wheat prices, (the price has almost doubled in around a year), and that in turn the price of pasta would need to be increased too. Now we all know how emotional the Italians can get and so as pasta is their staple diet, with the majority eating it almost every day of the week, they just had to protest.

Of those who were demonstrating about the price hike, many clearly stated they would rather go without sex than go without pasta! The price still looks as if it will be going up, so watch out for the birth rate to go down in Italy.
