Supermarket tactics to make you buy

It has long been known that many supermarkets employ various tactics to make customers buy what they want them buy and not the other way around. This can be called marketing or product placing, but at the end of the day it is the supermarkets intention that you leave the store spending more money than you initially intended to.

What tactics do they employ?

Eye candy

End-caps

Shelf shuffles

Cozy spots to relax

Tantalizing smells

These are fairly self explanatory and yet we always appear to fall for these tricks of the trade, when will we ever learn?
