Dracula’s Cape found in fancy dress shop

A cape that was worn by Christopher Lee when he played the part of Count Dracula in the 1958 film of the same name was thought to have been lost forever. However during a stock take at a fancy dress shop in London the cape was discovered. Naturally this needed to be verified and who better than the count himself to do so. Christopher Lee was able to confirm this and the cape that had disappeared for over thirty years had been in a fancy dress shop all along.

What is fascinating about this story is that the cape which is estimated to be worth around £25,000 has been found in a fancy dress shop! So I am wondering exactly how many people have hired and worn it to parties etc, interesting. The long coat worn by Peter Cushing who played Van Helsing in the same film was also found, this is being valued.

All in all it was a great day at the fancy dress shop.
