Skin covered book up for auction

A rare and somewhat unique book is going to be auctioned away at Wilkinson’s Auctioneers in Doncaster. Despite the almost grotesque nature of the book covering, it is an important book, the skin is believed to be that of one of the conspirators from the famous gunpowder plot in 1605, and in those days it was not that unusual to use skin as a book covering.

The book which is titled “A True And Perfect Relation Of The Whole Proceedings Against The Late Most Barbarous Traitors, Garnet A Jesuit And His Confederates” it covers in detail what happened to the gunpowder plotters after they were caught.

The books current owner is hoping that it will go to a museum, but if you are stuck for finding a present for your loved one, then you know where to go!
