Top US Store not Green

Mention Macy’s Department Store and you think of something along the lines of Selfridges or Harrods and you would be probably right. But sometimes are these high brow stores just too big for their own good? In the case of Macy’s it may seem so.

There is a growing movement for customers to be asked if they want a plastic bag or not as some people do not want to take plastic home, which is fair enough. However if you visit a Macy’s store, then they say that you must have a plastic bag otherwise you would not be allowed out of the store with your purchase.

The crazy thing this is not an isolated case it is in fact company policy, so how this works is anyone’s guess, maybe they have an excess of plastic bags and want their customers to dispose of them one by one!
