Could we have food shortages soon?

As if there was not enough to worry about, with terrorism, work and anything thing that crops up, it would seem that there is another problem lurking around the corner. It’s nothing to do with oil or money, but rather something more simpler, food!

Anyone that checks the prices in the store will know that there has been a gradual increase in prices, this due to the demands on such basics as diary and meat as people from places like China and India are becoming more affluent and therefore demand better food. There is also a strain being put on the crop industry from the new bio fuels plants opening up.

Food producing countries could well become powerful and rich as demand reaches all time highs, this will mean that they are able to seek out the highest prices, no matter where they come from.
